Joshua C. Caulfield, IOM

Joshua Caulfield, IOM, worked in non-profit associations since 1997 and has been the CEO of six organizations resulting in significant revenue and membership growth.  Mr. Caulfield has received presidential awards from the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) and the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) and earned the US Chamber of Commerce’s Institute of Organizational Management (IOM) certification.

Joshua is a published author of several articles and books on Organizational Management and Membership Recruitment, including “Outreach: Recruiting Members Painlessly”.

He is an accomplished speaker on technology adaptation, pricing policy, and leadership topics and he has developed programs for the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).


Lauren B. Nilssen, CMP, CMM, CAE, AFSP

Lauren Nilssen, CMP, CMM, CAE, AFSP, has over 25 years of non-profit association experience and 20 years as a registered tax professional solving tax issues. Lauren worked as a technical editor for KMPG, a Big-4 accounting firm, and she was an event planner for non-profit association board meetings and an industry consultant. Ms. Nilssen also teaches future association executives who are preparing for the Certification of Association Executives (CAE) exam.

Lauren has lived and worked as a journalist in Moscow, Russia, and has traveled extensively. She lives in Arlington, VA with her husband.



Brian B. Bauman
Director of Marketing and Communications

Brian is an award-wining communications and marketing professional who comes to NSA as a self-professed “agent of opportunity,” having served in the nonprofit sector, political arena, and multi-media marketplace. Brian is known for his passion for brand realignment, routing out new members and producing awesome multi-media experiences. Brian has helped empower hundreds of nonprofits to successfully promote and fundraise, managed political campaigns, and even marketed a multi-million-dollar media corporation. In his spare time, Brian likes herding feral pugs out on the range.


Devlin Bennett
Director of the Accreditation Council for Accountancy & Taxation (ACAT)

Devlin Bennett has been at NSA for 10 years.  She is currently the director of the Accreditation Council for Accountancy (ACAT) and she manages the administering and testing of the four ACAT credentials in both accounting and taxation.  Devlin previously worked in retail management and designing cakes.  She lives in Alexandria, VA with her husband and 3 children.


D'Onice Shaw Dillard (D'O)

D’Oniece Shaw Dillard (D’O) joins NSA as Office Manager and oversees the daily administrative operations of the organization. D'O forged an impressive multi-disciplined career with notable nonprofit organizations in the Nation's Capital, such as the 300-year-old historic Falls Church, the influential First Baptist Church located within sight of the White House, and the venerable Washington National Cathedral. D'O first earned her chops in the national and local radio-television industry, driving community-focused public relations, promotions, and media buying efforts throughout the region.


Susan Larrabee

Susan Larrabee is the executive manager at NSA. Susan has worked in the areas of cell phone technology, executive chef, and exhibit and trade show management.  She launched her business, Allow Me, and worked as a private chef for the ambassador to Barbados.  Susan also volunteers her time with a local animal shelter and has worked on several rescue missions.


Evan A. Lemoine, MBA, CPA, CFE, CGMA, PRP

Evan Lemoine has extensive accounting, audit, tax, and advisory experience ranging from small startups to Fortune 1000 companies. He serves on the board of several community, civic, and professional organizations where his expertise in not-for-profit governance, accounting, and technology is sought. In addition to being a CPA, he’s a certified fraud examiner, chartered global management accountant, and a professional registered parliamentarian. Evan is a frequent speaker to organizations on meeting procedures (Robert’s Rules), internal controls for small organizations, and not-for-profit taxes. He is an adjunct instructor and has taught introductory accounting courses all the way through graduate-level classes. He is a proud New England native and lives in Providence, Rhode Island.

Cindy Lopez
Membership and Marketing Manager

Cindy Lopez plays an essential role in NSA, managing the flow of information between the Membership and Marketing Department and our members. Cindy has over 15 years of experience in the non-profit world, having worked as an office manager for JKS Systems, based in Fairfax, VA, and for the Institute of Makers of Explosives (IME) in Washington, DC.


John C. Overington
Director of Membership

John brings almost a decade of association management experience, including membership support, acquisition, communications, and strategic partnerships. Previously, he has occupied various roles in human resource management and served as a federal finance contractor. In 2019, John was selected to participate in ASAE’s NextGen summit and is currently pursuing his CAE certification. He resides in Alexandria, VA, with his wife and son.

Sherrie Tennessee, MBA
Education Manager

Sherrie Tennessee has 20 years of experience in education and training, is an accomplished keynote speaker and has authored three books. She has designed, developed, and facilitated training programs for such well-known entities as Johns Hopkins University, MedImmune, Johnson and Wales University, Sandals Resorts International, and Mandarin Oriental. Sherrie has a BS in Biology and an MBA in Marketing and Entrepreneurship.
